COMBATING MUSCLE IMBALANCES
Practicing a single sport can lead to muscle imbalances and overuse injuries. These imbalances develop especially in sports where one side of the body is dominant, as in golf or tennis. Or an imbalance can overload one part of the body, as in biking or running, where the lower body is being used more vigorously than the upper body. By strengthening the powerhouse, Pilates builds a foundation from the inside out.
