HELPING INJURY REHABILITATION

While rehabilitating injuries, it is important to remain active to facilitate tissue regeneration. Sitting dormant makes it more difficult to heal injuries and rebuild muscles. Pilates can help athletes get back in the game more quickly by (1) first strengthening the areas around the injury; and (2) then slowly working the injury site itself, providing the movement necessary to get the blood to flow. Since Pilates focuses on proper alignment and pays attention to range of motion, it works with the body, not against it.
